Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

WAAFI has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Content that breaks these Terms is removed and the account responsible for it is suspended or terminated. Reports of objectionable content are reviewed within 24 hours.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and WAAFI. By creating an account, signing in, or using the WAAFI application or services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use WAAFI.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your country, to hold a WAAFI account. You are responsible for keeping your PIN, password and device secure, and for all activity that takes place under your account.

2. The service

WAAFI provides messaging, voice and video calling, airtime and bundle purchases, money transfers, bill payments, card services and access to partner services. Some features depend on your mobile operator, your country, and the completion of identity verification.

WAAFI also includes sections where users can post, share and comment on content, and send messages to each other. Content posted by users is the responsibility of the person who posted it and does not represent WAAFI.

3. User conduct and content policy

You are responsible for the content you post, send or share on WAAFI. You agree not to upload, post, share, send or otherwise make available content that:

  • is harmful, abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory or intended to intimidate another person;
  • promotes hatred or violence against a person or group on any grounds, including religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender or disability;
  • is sexually explicit, pornographic, or exploits or endangers children in any way;
  • depicts or encourages violence, self-harm, terrorism or criminal activity;
  • is fraudulent, misleading, or used to scam, impersonate or deceive other users;
  • is unsolicited advertising, spam or bulk messaging, or is used to distribute malware;
  • infringes the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any person;
  • violates the laws of the Republic of Djibouti, the Federal Republic of Somalia, or the laws that apply where you are.

You also agree not to harass, stalk, threaten or repeatedly contact another user who has asked you to stop or has blocked you, and not to use WAAFI to interfere with the service or with other users' accounts.

4. Reporting and blocking

Every piece of user content in WAAFI can be reported. Open the menu on the content and choose Report content, then select a reason. You can also block another user from the same menu, from their profile, or from any chat. Blocking removes that user's content from your feed immediately and stops them contacting you.

Blocked users can be reviewed and unblocked at any time from the Blocked Users list in the application. You can also report a user or content by writing to support@waafi.com.

5. Moderation and enforcement

Our moderation team reviews every report within 24 hours. Where content breaks these Terms we remove it, and we suspend or terminate the account of the user who posted it. Serious cases, including content involving children, terrorism or credible threats of violence, are removed immediately and may be reported to the authorities.

We may also filter or withhold content automatically where it is suspected of breaking these Terms, and we may act on content we become aware of without a report. Decisions can be appealed by writing to support@waafi.com.

6. Suspension and termination of your account

We may suspend or close your account, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, if we are required to do so by law or by a regulator, or if we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse of the service. You may close your account at any time from the application, or by contacting support. Closing an account does not cancel obligations that arose before it was closed.

7. Money services

Money transfers, bill payments, card services and related features are provided under the applicable financial service agreements and, for cards, under the WAAFI Card Terms and Conditions. Fees, limits and identity verification requirements depend on your account and country and are shown in the application before a transaction is confirmed.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. By using WAAFI you agree to the handling of your information as described there.

9. Availability and liability

We work to keep WAAFI available and secure, but the service is provided on an "as is" basis and may be interrupted for maintenance, network problems or reasons outside our control. To the extent permitted by law, WAAFI is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, or for content posted by other users.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use WAAFI after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Djibouti, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.

12. Contacting us

If you have any questions about these Terms, or wish to report content or a user, you may contact us using the information below.
